I’m an earnest lefty who smiles a lot. A nerd with social graces. An extrovert who loves staying in and cooking. A serious thinker who loves going out and not being serious. A girl with a weakness for social justice... and overpriced footwear. A strident independent who met her match and decided to get married after all (eye roll).

You might know me from Eat, Drink, Marry – where I started telling the story of our election-themed wedding and accidentally turned into a wedding blogger. You might know me from m-pyre, which began as a hangout for three graduate school pals and quickly became the thorn in many a New Mexico politician's side. You might know me from further back – my college haunts of Boston, say, or my original stomping grounds of North Carolina. Or maybe you got to know me through my Dallas shenanigans, and are here to welcome me to my new city: Washington, DC.

Having a blogging home base that can bring together all my various interests might be a grand experiment in schizophrenia, or might just feel like me: part newshound/politico/activist/community-planner, part reader/foodie/shopper/queen-of-self-indulgence. The good news is, I offer something for everyone. So come sit and stay for a spell; let's get to know each other.
